Dissertation note: Undergraduate Thesis Bachelor of secondary Education major in Science University of Rizal System, Rodriguez, Rizal 2022 Summary: The study aimed to determine the Challenges and Opportunities of the New Normal Learning Modalities among High School Students in Rodriguez Rizal. This study used the Descriptive-Qualitative method in describing the challenges faced by the high school students of Rodriguez Rizal and opportunities they perceived brought by the new normal learning modalities caused by covid-19 pandemic. Descriptive research involved gathering of data that describes events and then organizes, tabulates, depicts, and describes the data collection. Therefore, in Descriptive Qualitative the data may be collected qualitatively, but it is often analyzed quantitatively, using frequencies, percentages, averages, or other statistical analyses to determine relationships. Qualitative research, however, is more holistic and often involves a rich collection of data from various sources to gain a deeper understanding of the respondents, including their opinions, perspectives, and attitudes. Some of the commonly used data collection methods for qualitative data includes the interviews. The study was conducted in two different high schools in Rodriguez Rizal during the school year 2020-2021 involving all year levels in junior and high school program. The researchers utilized Random Sampling; the selection of the members of the sample was done randomly; researchers selected fifty (50) students from two different high school on all high school level for equal distribution of respondents This pandemic had brought a dilemma to educational institutions especially when the government announced and ordered not to open face to face classes for Academic Year 2020-2021 until the Covid19 vaccine. In response to this order, the Department of Education (DepEd) released department order nos. 007, 12, 13, and 14 series of 2020 instructing all basic education institutions to come up with their Learning Continuity Plan (LCP) with the different learning modes and health and safety protocols in the new normal in education during the pandemic. The study proved that most students comes from in senior high school level students and with a monthly family income below P30,000. It tells that most of the high. school students especially in junior high school with an average monthly family income faced enormous challenges and perceived opportunities in utilizing new normal learning modalities. Survey also concluded that the almost High School students have a problem with poor internet connection given that the Philippines is one of the countries that has slowest internet connection but one of the most expensive internet bills that is why some of the students can't afford to purchase any internet services, No gadgets for distance learning due to financial problems some are parents loss jobs brought by pandemic but some are really can't afford even before pandemic began, Loss of focus because of non-conducive environment and extra responsibilities inside home.

The study aimed to determine the Challenges and Opportunities of the New Normal Learning Modalities among High School Students in Rodriguez Rizal.

This study used the Descriptive-Qualitative method in describing the challenges faced by the high school students of Rodriguez Rizal and opportunities they perceived brought by the new normal learning modalities caused by covid-19 pandemic.
