Undergraduate Thesis Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Science University of Rizal System, Rodriguez, Rizal 2023
The pandemic has impacted many aspects of people's lives, including students' education. In this regard, the researchers conducted this research to learn about the online learning experiences of science education students at the University of Rizal System-Rodriguez Campus. To achieve the study's objective, the researchers used a descriptive quantitative research design. Participants included ten randomly selected science students from each grade level total of forty students and each year level was equally represented in the study. Most of the respondents surveyed were between the ages of eighteen (18) and twenty-three (23), and most of them were female students. In terms of Monthly Family Income, the majority was the average earner. In terms of previous average grade, the average learners were the majority. The mobile phones were the frequent gadgets that the respondents utilized, while the Wi-Fi was the most internet sources of the respondents.
Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions were drawn:
Regardless of the profile of the science education students, they addressed their online learning experiences,
Based on their assessments of their learning experiences with online learning, the majority of science education students agreed that it was necessary to use mobile phones for the new normal of education and that they required a Wi-Fi connection or mobile data in order to attend their online classes.
Most of the respondents were aware of their needs in online learning and had experienced a lack of internet and gadgets, the noise of their surroundings, such as the sounds of vehicles, the noise of a rooster, and the barks of the dog, and the new environment based on what they had encountered during online classes.
Based on the results of the study, the following recommendations were hereby offered by the researchers:
Parents may guide their children as their guardians by giving full support to their children during online classes, Students may know their own needs and see if they can cope with them on their own or if they need to seek help. Future Researchers were encouraged to conduct a related study to broaden the idea of this research by looking for other students' needs that were not discussed in this paper. They may also increase the number of respondents so they can have better results, and this will serve as reference in conducting new research about online learning experiences.
