Tracer study on the Graduate of alternative learning system ALS/ Angelica Roslinda, [and] Charmel Ann Joy S. Bron

Dissertation note: Undergraduate Thesis Bachelor of Elementary Education Content Courses University of Rizal System, Rodriguez, Rizal 2016 Summary: The primary objective of this study is to assess the program of the Alternative Learning System. The respondents were 50 Alternative Learning System graduates coming from the Geronimo Alternative Learning System Center. Descriptive method of research was employed to determine the current status of the respondents after they graduated from Alternative Learning System. Frequency and Percentage distribution were utilized to get the profile of the respondents. Based on the data gathered from the respondents the following findings were obtained: With regards to the profile of the respondents in terms of sex, there were 25 female respondents or 50 percent and 25 male respondents or 50 iv percent. In terms of age, most of the respondents' ranged their ages from 17-22 with a frequency of 32 or 64 percent of the total percentage. Ranged their ages from 23-27 had a frequency of 14 or 28 percent while respondents ranged their ages from 28 above had frequency of 4 or 8 percent. In terms of subjects considered not important in studying in Alternative Learning System, Filipino got a frequency of 18 or 25.71 percent and verbally interpreted as not important. It was followed by English with 14 or 20 percent and verbally interpreted as D (Developing). Next was Science with 10 or 14.29 percent Sense of Community, One's Vision and Math got a frequency of 9 or 12.86 percent and it can verbally interpreted as D(Developing) And lastly, Essay with a frequency of 1 or 1.429 percent. In terms of subjects that helped the respondents a lot, Essay was the most helpful subject with a frequency of 38 ог 38.38 percent followed by Math with the frequency of 15 or 15.15 percent while Science and English got 14 or 14.14 percent and verbally interpreted as (AP) Approaching Proficiency. Meanwhile Values got 11 or 11.11 percent. With regards to how many respondents continued their studies, 27 or 54 percent of the total respondents continued their studies in college while 23 or 46 percent of the respondents did not continue their studies in college. In terms of skills and competencies developed while they were Studying in the ALS Program, Writing got the highest skills developed with the frequency of 40 or 28.99 percent. It was followed by Confidence with 24 or 17.39 percent. Next was the Organization with 22 or 15.94.Then Communication got 20 or 14.49 percent, Literature with 15 or 10.87, Creativity and Industrious got 11 or 7.971, Working under pressure with 4 or 2.899, and lastly the Computer had 2 or 1.499. In terms of general impression of the respondents, most of them felt Fulfilled with a frequency of 24 or 48 percent. It was followed by Disappointed with 10 or 20 percent, Impressed got 9 or 18 percent, and lastly least of the respondents with a frequency of 7 or 14 percent felt Excited. In terms of ALS great contribution in the present life of the respondents. majority of the respondents agreed and said that ALS program had a great contribution in their present life. With regards to the advantages of ALS program specified by its recipients, short period of study got the highest frequency of 22 or 59.46 percent. It was followed by Learn Practical Situations with a frequency of 8 or 21.62 percent. Then, No Examination got a frequency of 4 or 10.81 percent. Lastly Scholarship had a frequency of 3 or 8.108 percent. In terms of how many respondents continued their studies, 27 or 54 percent of the respondents continued their studies while 23 or 46 percent did not continue their studies. With regards to the current status to the respondents after they graduated, in terms of employability status, most of the respondents worked as full time with a frequency of 21 or 42 while 11 respondents or 22 percent worked as part time and 8 or 16 percent worked as Self-Employed. Meanwhile 10 of the respondents or 20 percent had no job. In terms of factors affecting them in employment Educational Attainment got the highest frequency of 34 or 44 percent. Need fo Additional Skills had 17 or 22 percent, Lack of Self-Confidence with 13 or 17.1 percent and Interest with 12 or 15.79 percent.
