Dissertation note: Undergraduate Thesis Bachelor of Elementary Education University of Rizal System, Rodriguez, Rizal 2023 Summary: This study aimed to determine the coping mechanisms of URSR College students residing in remote areas in the new learning environment. The study employed descriptive qualitative research using interview to obtain the needed data. The respondents of the study were the college students from the college of education, business, social work and agriculture. The study was conducted during the school year 2022-2023. Based on the data that gathered, interpreted, and analyzed, the researchers came up with the following findings. On the profile of the respondents in terms of sex most of them were females ages ranged from 19 to 21 years old. They came from different colleges of the university. They were all living in Barangays Wawa, Puray and MASCAP for decades. Most of their parents' occupation were farmers and drivers. On the problems encountered by the respondents living in remote areas. students experience poor internet connectivity, difficulties in accomplishing the task and lack of gadgets. On how students cope with the problems encountered in the new learning environment. They bought data load, went to an area with a strong signal or to town to get online, borrowed money from their friends and neighbors to do their activities, and they also coped by writing their answers, essays, and reflections on a piece of paper and typing them on their cellphones. From the enumerated findings, the following conclusions were arrived at: Parents of the respondents have work, good enough to sustain their education and everyday living in the remote areas of Montalban. Due to distance from the town proper, college students usually encountered problems in connectivity, that affects their efficiency in accomplishing their virtual tasks. College students are resourceful in addressing their problems that help them survive the demands of new learning environment. Based on the findings and conclusions, the following recommendations were formulated: Students. They may cope with their problem by practicing time management techniques such as constructing to-do lists, planning, and organizing one's workspace. They can also go to a place where they have a good signal or connection. Borrow money from a friend, and they may be able to devise a plan to meet their needs. Parents. They may put in more effort at work to help their children more in their online learning and provide them with better leaming opportunities. Teachers. They may also consider students living in remote areas who are struggling due to lack of connectivity. They can also reduce students' stress by providing support. Future Researchers. The ideas presented may be used as reference data in conducting new research. This study will also serve as their cross-reference that will give them a background on how students living in remote areas cope with the demands of the new learning environment.
