Working Capital Management of Independent Pharmacies in the First Disctrict of Rizal / Alejo, Djohanna Erica C.

The researchers utilized the descriptive method of research to determine the perception of the respondents on the working capital management of independent pharmacies. The primary instrument for collecting data were questionnaire checklist. The researchers were able to determine the perception of 58 respondents in various type of statistical measure such as frequency, percentage and rank distribution, weighted mean and ANOVA to determine the curriculum development, enhancing students' professional readiness in finance and investment while maintaining reliable and valid results by reducing variability from perception of the respondents on the Working Capital Management of Independent Pharmacies in the First District of Rizal. Based on the findings with regards to the business profile, in terms of municipality most of the respondents were from municipality of Taytay, Rizal and have an initial capital of less than 100,000, have a present capital of 100,001- 500,000. Most of the Independent Pharmacies operates 3 to 4years, a sole proprietorship type of business and the sources of capital were personal savings, have 3 employees and operates at 7am to 11pm everyday. With respect to their assessment on their Cash Management, they maintains their liquidity to meets their business obligations, in terms of Inventory Management they audits their items according to its classification, and in terms of Accounts Payable they always validates their invoice before payments were made. The Independent Pharmacies should focus on income-generating activities and also avoid unnecessary expenses. Independent Pharmacies should practice having appropriate inventory management and have accurate sales forecasts to optimize inventory levels and ensure sufficient stock to meet customer needs without overstocking, also negotiating favorable credit can improve the use of working capital for financial stability and profitability. The Independent Pharmacies faced a challenges includes large chain competition, inventory management and customer relationship. In line with the summary of findings and conclusion, the researchers recommended that the owner must invest more if there is an excess cash to earn an additional income, moreover the owner must have systematic audit of inventories to avoid over purcheses and over stock of supplies. It is further suggested that the owner must use inventory count sheets to easily monitor and identify the available supplies for business operations.
