and mid-sized milk tea businesses, particularly in Binangonan, Rizal. However,
despite their growing presence, little research has been conducted on the financial life cycle of these businesses. This study examines the financial challenges and
strategies of milk tea shop owners across start-up, profitability, expansion, and sustainability stages. Surveys from 88 owners/managers quantitatively analyzed revenue, expenses, and growth trends.
The study found that most milk tea shop owners are typically young, college-educated, running small, understaffed businesses with limited capital (PHP 51,000-100,000), primarily loan-funded. The study highlights that while owners recognize the importance of financial planning, many struggle with expansion and sustainability. Fluctuating ingredient costs and inventory management are key challenges, addressed primarily through supplier negotiations and digital inventory tracking. However, digital marketing
underutilization indicates potential growth.
This study concludes that while milk tea businesses in Binangonan achieve
early financial success, they face challenges in long-term sustainability and expansion. Recommendations focus on cost management, inventory efficiency, digital marketing adoption, and financial literacy to improve business sustainability. Future research should focus on long-term profitability and the impact of digital strategies on business growth.
