This research entitled DUST DETECTION SYSTEM WITH SMS ALERT FOR ENHANCE ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY was conducted during the academic year 2023 - 2024 mainly to give alert to the citizen living in the area and to the respective barangay leaders. A device built to reduce respiratory illnesses that can be fatal to all the people living in the community. It is constructed as the researcher believed that it will be truly huge help for the keeping the community safe and for the satisfaction of the people living within it, keeping themselves safe and healthy. The system was divided mainly by two categories first, the receiver, it is the one who receive the dust and detect if it is safe or hazardous. Second, Sender, it is the one we used to send the SMS to the selected authorities for them to make the whole area informed. The study used developmental and descriptive research designs since this was focused on constructing and creating the device for Dust Detection System. To construct and create the system, the researchers used C language as their main programming language through the use of Arduino IDE. To evaluate the device, the researchers interpreted the result on the questionnaire checklist as "Very Much Acceptable" by the respondents with respect to functional suitability, performance efficiency, compatibility, usability, reliability, security, maintainability and portability with the average weighted mean of 4.58, 4.54, 4.63, 4.495, 4.527, 4.455, 4.455 and 4.515 respectively. Hence, based on the result, the research study concluded that the system was found to be " Very Much Acceptable" as evaluated by the respondents with Compatibility being the highest having an average weighted mean of 4.63. In addition, the researchers created a video presentation on how to use the system to explain the system, purpose, especially to the local citizens and their respective barangay leaders. The conclusions drawn from the findings indicate that the implemented system operates efficiently and meets expectations. Respondents find the system "Very Much Acceptable'. Recommendations include upgrading hardware components with financial support from the barangay, enhancing user-friendliness, particularly for elderly users, and suggesting modifications for future researchers to enhance the system's efficiency and acceptability.
