The objective of this study is to design and develop a Web-Based Passenger Monitoring with an Ultrasonic Alert System. Also, determine the level of acceptability of the developed Web-Based Passenger Monitoring with Ultrasonic Alert System. The researchers used developmental and descriptive research methodologies. The developmental research used as a foundation for creating the system of the study went through a systematic way of analysis and design. While descriptive method was used to evaluate the acceptability of the study. The researchers used a questionnaire checklist as their medium to determine the functional suitability, performance efficiency, usability, reliability, compatibility, security, and maintainability of the system and device. The respondents consist of forty (40) passengers/boat staff from Binangonan Port, five (5) coast guards, and five (5) experts who are computer engineers. The device was created using ultrasonic sensors that measure the weight of a boat during the boarding of passengers and before its departure. The sensors were connected to an ESP8266 NodeMCU (WiFi Module) to collect data through the sensors that was sent to the alert system. The developed system and device show an organized way of monitoring the passenger list with the latest reading of load capacity with less labor work. The researcher's system was developed using JavaScript, JSON, and a Google API for the collection of data for QR codes and ultrasonic sensor readings. This study aimed to design and develop a user-friendly system for the passengers, captain, and coast guard in Sta.Ursula Pritil, Binangonan, Rizal. The results of the evaluation showed the average weighted means of 4.39, 4.34, 4.39, 4.46, 4.47, 4.41, and 4.49 from the passengers, coastguard, and experts, respectively. The developed system and device were verbally interpreted as "very much acceptable.” The researchers recommendation to future researchers would be the enhancement of ultrasonic devices to identify a percentage of data with greater ease, expanding its effectiveness and applicability with real-time data.
