The respondents of the study were 16 dressmaking experts at Dela Paz National High School, and this research was conducted during the academic year 2022-2023. The objective of the researchers was to create a performance-based task for teaching dressmaking, providing teachers with 8 resources for their lessons. To achieve this, the researchers began by finding a curriculum guide for Grade 8, known as MELC-TLE 8, which would serve as a framework for designing the activities. The researchers focused on five key competencies in dressmaking that high school students should possess, including the use of tools and equipment, mensuration and calculation, Occupational Health and Safety procedures, maintenance of tools and equipment, and reading and interpreting drawing designs. The preliminary aspects of the course involved discussing its relevance, explaining key concepts, and exploring career opportunities. By incorporating these elements into the MELC-TLE 8 Dressmaking content, the researchers aimed to ensure that students receive accurate information, reliable sources, and appropriate instructional materials to effectively learn and perform specific tasks aligned with the course objectives. According to the study, performance-based activities used to teach dressmaking as part of the Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) were found to be highly acceptable. As learners' needs are met and practical application is encouraged, they show a positive response. These tasks enhance student engagement and provide an opportunity to integrate innovative and effective teaching strategies, which are highly favored by TLE teachers. The activities function effectively in terms of goals, structure, presentation, and language use, highlighting their overall effectiveness in enhancing student learning, motivation, and the teaching process. From the results and conclusions obtained, the researchers recommend the following: Encourage Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) teachers to actively incorporate performance-based tasks into dressmaking education. Highlight the positive reception by learners and the benefits for both teachers and students. Emphasize the effectiveness of performance-based tasks in achieving teaching objectives, especially in dressmaking. The high acceptability among TLE teachers indicates the potential for improving engagement and learning outcomes. Maintain a focus on the quality of task presentation and organization. Ensure that tasks are clear, well-structured, and suitable for students. Continuous assessment and improvement of task quality contribute to overall acceptability. And also, future Researchers can use this study for their reference on research topics that are connected to this study.
