The objective of this study was to identify the adaptiveness of selection. optimization, and compensation strategy as coping mechanisms in workload problems among office workers at Skinny Manufacturing Corp. The research used quantitative and qualitative approaches to gather information about the issues. The respondents of this research were office workers from Skinny Manufacturing Corp.
This study utilized mean and rank to treat the quantitative data and thematic analysis for the qualitative data.
The findings are summarized as follows: On. the workload problem
experienced by office workers in terms of Vitality under Work Pleasure (M=4.51)
Organizational Commitment (M=4.29), and Recovery After Work (M=3.59) confirmed that employees struggle to keep their energy necessary for their job. In addition, Work-Job Demands under Pace and Amount of Work (M=4.04),
Emotional Workload (M=3.45), and Mental Workload (M=3.62) revealed that employees struggle in emotional, mental, and physical exhaustion to fulfill necessary job duties. Work Resources under Job Variety (M=3.82), Relationship with Supervisor (M=3.96), and Relationship with Colleagues (M=4.16) exposed that employees struggle in achieving necessary things to achieve task due to different responsibilities but their supervisor and colleagues contributes to their goals at work. Diagnostic Scales under Sleep Quality (M=2.83), Emotional Reaction During Work (M=3.02), and Tiredness During Work (M=3.02) verified that
employees struggle to lack of sleep, feeling strong and maintain energy at work.
On the Perception of the Adaptiveness of Selection Strategy in terms of
Vitality (M= 3.71), Work-Job Demands (M= 3.71), Work Resources (M= 3.69), and Diagnostic Scales (M=3.67) validated that employees were evident to set and prioritize specific goals in coping with their workload problems. Moreover, adaptiveness of the Optimization Strategy in terms of Vitality: (M= 3.81), Work-Job Demands (M= 3.81), Work Resources (M- 3.82), and Diagnostic Scales (M= 3.82) supported that employees were evident to acquire and invest in order to achieve
their goals to cope with their workload problem. Lastly, the adaptiveness of the Compensation Strategy in terms of Vitality (M= 3.86), Work-Job Demands (M=
3.84), Work Resources (M= 3.82), and Diagnostic Scales (M= 3.82) affirmed that employees were evident to replace their means to cope with their workload
problems when it no longer accessible.
On the Frequency of respondents' exercise of Selection, Optimization, and Compensation Strategy, the most frequently utilized coping mechanism in terms of Vitality was Optimization (M-3.94). In terms of Work-Job Demands was Optimization (M=4.03). In terms of Work Resources was Compensation (M=4.52).
In terms of Diagnostic Scale was Selection (M=4.12).
Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions arrived: The office employees of Skinny Manufacturing Corp. experienced workload problems
except work resources under relationship with supervisor and relationship with colleagues which revealed that they were able to build a positive relation both with their supervisor and colleagues. The office employees of Skinny Manufacturing Corp. have been evidently adapting the Selection, Optimization, and Alt
Compensation Strategy in order to cope with their workload problems in terms of Vitality, Work-Job Demands, Work Resources, and Diagnostic Scales. It was confirmed that the aforementioned strategies have been helpful for office employees in managing their workload problems. The result suggested that the Selection, Optimization, and Compensation Strategy are all frequently utilized by the office workers of Skinny Manufacturing Corp. in managing their workload
problems.
With the cited conclusions and findings of the study, the following overall recommendations are presented: Skinny Manufacturing Corp. They can refer to this study on creating a healthier working environment wherein every employee feels appreciated to increase their overall productivity, Skinny Manufacturing
Corp. Office Workers. They can give feedback on the management's way of
operation that can help to improve their working condition. Future Researchers.
The next generation of researchers can refer to this study as a reference guide for
their in-depth exploration on workload issue and the selection, optimization, and
compensation strategy.
