Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering) -- University of Rizal System-Morong.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Today, most students had been a growing concern in learning the actual application of theories learned from lectures. The general objective of the research is to develop of a Fault Simulator Trainer Board for Three Horsepower Split Type Air-Conditioning Unit. It also aims to determine the acceptability of the project according to some factors. Many students rely only on theories the learned in books and lectures from the professors due to lack of facilities and equipment in every state university. Teaching aids are very important in helping for the advancement of learning of students, it is also important on how well a student can learn. This is very beneficial for reinforcing the skill or concept and representing the information in terms of a hands-on-way. Modern science classes rely on technology to collect data from experiment. It is best if the teaching equipment is easy for students to use. Some of the students of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering learned to solve problems with formulas and theories, but in reality, the students have a difficulty concerning its operational application. During laboratory subjects, the students were not able to perform some applications of the lectures because of the absence of laboratory equipment and adequate facilities. The researchers conducted an evaluation made by the respondents to determine the level of acceptability of the project. The respondents were the students from the fourth year and fifth year Mechanical Engineering students A.Y. 2017-2018. The general findings on the evalution are hereby presented: In determining the level of acceptability of the project. The researchers based the evaluation in terms of usefulness, safety, maintenance, performance, and durability. Based on the development and evaluation made by the respondents made by the respondents on the project. The Fault Simulator Trainer Board for a Three Horsepowere Split Type Air-Conditioning Unit was highly accepted in terms of usefulness, safety and maintenance, durability and performance. After the research was done, the researchers came up with the following conclusions. The researchers found out that the statistical data from the respondents show mostly no difference in numbers about the usefulness, safety and maintenance, performance and durability. Moreover, it is confirmed that the finish project mostly attain its function according to its design and objectives. The researchers came up with the following recommendations based on the research. The addition and installation of some mechanical parts for other parts of training and learning . also adding gisital pressure gauges, which is not available in the country. Lastly, placing parts connection diagram to be understandable during hands-on activities.
