Dissertation note: Thesis BSF University of Rizal System. Cardona 2002 Summary: This feasibility study is about putting-up a flower shop in Kalawaan, Darangan, Binangonan, Rizal. In making this study the researcher considered all the consequences and alternatives to have a realistic project study. The proposed project summarizes the major highlights and findings of each major aspects of the study. The proposed business is a flower shop, which shall bear the name Butik de Flora. The name of the business is according to the researcher's idea; Butik means store and Flora means flower. It will be located along National Road Kalawaan, Darangan, Binangonan, Rizal. The chosen area is good site for the business because of its accessibility. Management aspect shows the pre-operational and operational management of the business. Buti De Flora is a single proprietorship form of business. The shop will be controlled by the researcher herself, which will act as the general manager, accounting clerk and cashier. The shop will employ the shop florist and one helper. This also includes the project timetable or the project planning from pre-opening until the normal operation of the business. The shop will start its opening June 2002. Marketing aspects serves as the lifeblood of all feasibility study. In this chapter the researcher discussed the important matters in establishing flower shop. The demand and supply situation will help to determine the target market of the business. The target of the proposed business will be 5% or 1,759 of the total population, composed of those expected as buyers. Pricing is also fair for both consumer and the owner of the shop. Marketing strategy is carefully planned by the researcher to meet up the competition. Technical side deals with the additional factors in the operation of the new proposed project. It includes the listing of materials and equipment with corresponding costs. Alll actual items required in the operation are considered. All computation of product costs are based on the actual bills from suppliers and competitors with the same product lines and same equipment and utilities. Finally, the illustration of the layout and exact location of Butik de Flora is presented. The taxation aspect includes the government's fees and the tax exemptions. The business will be exempted for about P20,000 of its net income. Financial aspect is the most vital part of all project feasibility study. The initial capital requirement for this study will be P250,000 which will came for the personal savings of the researchers. It also includes the overall expenses of the business and the projected financial statement for the next five years of operation. It is important to identify all expenses to determine if the proposed business will be a profitable or not. The socio-economic aspect includes how Butik de flora contributes to the community. The proposed business will be of great help to the local and national government to fulfill their objectives for the economic development.
