The feasibility study, entitled "Production of Kalabasa Chips in Binangonan, Rizal," aimed to determine the viability, feasibility, and profitability of the proposed business. This will be recognized as a business that offers Kalabasa chips, and it
will be in the form of a sole proprietorship that is dedicated in producing high-quality Kalabasa chips that will be produced and supplied in the target market of Binangonan, Rizal. The study begins by acknowledging the benefits of squash, as this is
recognized as an important source of vitamins and minerals just like vitamins A
and C; It also contains calcium and Iron. Among the advantages of squash is its
affordability and availability in the market. It has very few calories, making it an
ideal component of the diet plan, and eating squash regularly can keep your vision
sharp too.
The proposed project involves having the starting capital for the start-up
business be at least PHP. 220,000 that will be funded by the owner for the
acquisition of equipment, ingredients, and other production-related expenses, and
for the rental and renovation of the facilities for the process of kalabasa chips,
encompassing seasoning, cooling, slicing, dehydrating, and packaging. This will be during the pre-operating period as well as the legal terms that will be followed
by the filing and registration of legal and necessary documents for the business's
operation, such as permits and licenses.
During the operating period, the mission and vision of the business will be
shared with the employees, as well as the rules and regulations of the business to
regulate a good environment and unity for its people and business. The business
will open and be ready to operate from 8:00 In the morning to 4:00 In the afternoon
from Monday to Saturday. The project also covered tax and legal matters imposed
by the government. The owner managed and supervised the assigned duties and
responsibilities of the personnel. Two production workers and distributing
personnel were hired for the establishment. The distribution will start when the
producer is done making the product, then the owner will be responsible for sales and office work to handle and use online platforms to advertise the product and
expand distribution to nearby markets and retailers, and lastly, the target market
primarily consists of consumers in Binangonan, Rizal.
According to the survey conducted by the proponents, based on a survey
of 102 respondents, 97.1 percent showed interest in trying Kalabasa chips.
Majority 56.9 percent are willing to spend 50 pesos on the product, with 31.4
percent willing to buy it weekly. Chapter 6 focuses on the financial aspect,
projecting expenses for the first five years with a 5.7 percent inflation rate. Gross
margin ratio starts at 56.67 percent and rises to 59.67 percent by the fifth year,
indicating efficient production. Operating margin ratio starts at 18.44 percent and
grows to 31.35 percent by the fifth year, showing profitability in core operations. In conclusion, after thoroughly examining all aspects of this study, it is
evident that the proposed project shows potential. It is concluded that the
production of kalabasa chips in Binangonan, Rizal, is indeed feasible. There's a
strong demand for healthy snacks, and analysis shows that this can work
financially and technically. By carefully planning, following regulations, and
adopting sustainable practices, the business has the potential to be successful and
contribute positively to the local economy.
