This study focused on the assessment of the two groups of respondents, the teacher and students of Manuel I. Santos Memorial National High School on the Effectiveness of Electrical Installation and Maintenance Module of Grade 7. The study was conducted during the academic year of 2014-2015.The respondents were the one hundred (100) selected students and ten (10) teachers. Questionnaire checklist was used in gathering the necessary data. The first part of the questionnaire assessed the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age and gender for both teachers and students, as well as, the teacher respondent's highest educational attainment and length of service. The module was assessed with respect to objectives, contents, graphics and language and style.
The study utilized the descriptive survey method, percentage and ranking were used to determine the profile of the respondents, and T-test to determine the acceptability of the assessed and evaluated module in Electrical Installation and Maintenance
Findings showed that most of the student-respondents were 12-14 years old that made up 55%. Followed by 15-17 years old, 43% and 18-20 years old. 2%
For teacher respondents, in terms of Age, 40% of the teacher ages 26-30 years old, while thirty percent belonged to 20-25 years old and 30% belonged to 31-35 years old.
In terms of Highest Educational Attainment of the teacher 40% of the teacher was doctorate degree holder while 30% have Master's degree and the rest have baccalaureate degree with same percentage.
In terms of the teacher's length of service in teaching, 50% served for five years and below, followed by 30%who have served six to ten years lastly 20% of the teachers have already served the government for 11-15.
On the Effectiveness of Electrical Installation and Maintenance Module of Grade 7 the two groups of respondents assessed the objective as (WM =3.81); content (WM =3.94) verbally interpreted as Much Agree; graphics (WM =3.87); language (WM-4.10); and style (WM =4.00) all of which are verbally interpreted as Much Agree.
This implies that based on the evaluation of the respondents the module is of big help in facilitating learning
In testing the null hypothesis using the Independent Sample t-test, result showed that in terms of module objectives, content, graphics, language and style, the null hypothesis is rejected since the computed T-values of 7.17, 3.13, 6.51, 3.77, and 6.20 respectively did not exceed the tabular T-values of 1.960 with 108 degrees of freedom and using 0.05 level of significance therefore, the null hypothesis was rejected and led to the conclusion that there is significant difference between the assessment of the two groups of respondents on the five effectiveness aspects of Electrical Installation Maintenance Module of Grade 7.
The study assured the credibility of the module used in teaching and the teacher can formulate new way on how to deliver the module effectively. The study may be considered as a basis for enhancing and designing Instructional Module suitable for the learners. The needs of the students must be prioritized.
The study realized the big role of the learning module in the teaching learning process, it might be effective or not. Tailor-fit to the needs of the students and the need for instructional materials. A similar study can be replicated in other parts of the country to verify whether the same result encountered by the setting of this study is being experienced, too.
