The researchers focused on the instructional materials used by the Social Studies teachers in Justice Cecilia Muñoz Palma High School. The researchers conducted this study in School Year 2024-2025 to some of the teachers of Social Studies (Grade 7 to Grade 10) with a total of twenty (20) respondents. The researchers selected the respondents through simple random sampling and used checklist and interview guide questions to gather the data. The researchers applied Descriptive quantitative and Descriptive qualitative methods in the data gathering and analysis. The researchers utilized descriptive statistics particularly the mean distribution identifying the levels of utilization to the instructional materials by the Social Studies teachers and to the criteria observation of the Social Studies teachers in terms of Learning Competency, Content, Language, Social Content and Assessment to analyze the data that the researchers collected coming from the respondents.
The findings showed that all instructional materials are being utilized thus, Books is somewhat not used frequently due to different reasons and instructional materials that has integration of technology are shows as most frequent utilized instructional materials such as PowerPoint Presentation/Canva, Audio Visuals, and Charts/Visual Alds. 3D Models/Manipulative Objects got a lowest means score based on the observation of the teachers of Social Studies teachers through the criteria given that needs to improved its quality for effectively used. Furthermore, the Language has significantly low observable among the criteria given specifically in Books, Audio Visual, and 3D Models/Manipulative Objects. The Social Studies teachers suggested that the instructional materials that has integration of technology should use frequently and align to the learning objective to promote 21st century skills as prescribed by the DepEd. Finally, the researchers suggested that the school may include to its action plan based on the results of this study.
