The teaching and learning environment are embracing a number of innovations and some of these involve the use of technology through blended learning. This innovative pedagogical approach has been embraced rapidly though it goes through a process. The introduction of blended learning (combination of face-to-face and online teaching and learning) initiatives is part of these innovations but its uptake, especially in the developing world faces challenges for it to be an effective innovation in teaching and learning.
This study was conducted to determine how the social studies students
will cope up to the problems that they encountered in blended learning and to determine the experiences in blended learning. The research carried out is known as Quantitative research, this study intended to analyze the numerical data collected through survey questionnaires regarding the Experiences and Practices of social studies students to the new normal in blended learning. The researchers used a random sampling method to achieve the objectives of this study. Based on the result of gathered data, Researchers find out that social studies students encountered problems in this new normal.
Based on their experiences in blended learning and problems that they encountered were the following: poor internet connection, time management, learning environment, device, budget and lack of interaction. The researchers find also that most of the experiences of Social Studies students to blended learning were challenging, difficult, and anxious. The result of conducted research study will help to the researchers and to the students to give a recommendation to meet the learning style, skills, knowledge, interest and abilities in education.
After conducting the survey about "Experiences and Practices in adapting to the New Normal Learning of Bachelor of Secondary Education students major in Social Studies in University of Rizal System Rodriguez Campus" they found out that students encountered problems in blended learning based on their experiences.
Based on the profile of the Social Students in terms of sex, most of the
social studies students are females. In terms of the family status, most of them are belong to the middle class and the highest income of the family of the respondents are range 6,000 to 12,000 a month. Based on the gathered data from the survey.
It shows that the Social Studies major are experiencing problems to the new
normal in blended Learning.
