TI - Needs Assessment of the Residents of Kasiglahan Village Rodriguez, Rizal: Basis for the Development of a Livelihood Intervention Program AV - LG 221.R59 .Op21 2014 PY - 2014/// KW - Livelihood Intervention N1 - Undergraduate Thesis N2 - This study primarily aimed to determine the needs of the residents of Kasiglahan Village Rodriguez, Rizal. Which is composed of nine phases which were the Phase 1A, Phase 1B, Phase 1C, Phase 1D, Phase 1E Phase 1G, Phase 1M, Phase 1K, Phase 1K1, and Phase 1K2. The respondents of the study were 200 randomly selected households that represented their phases. The study was conducted during school year 2014-2015. The researcher utilized descriptive survey design of the study. Questionnaire checklist was used as primary source of data. The statistical tools used were frequency percentage distribution and ranking. In gathering data, the researchers distributed the questionnaires to the respondents in order to determine the needs of the residents of Kasiglahan Village Rodriguez, Rizal. Tabulation and interpretation were done accordingly. From the data gathered, the following findings were summarized: As for the profile of the respondents, in terms of Sex, there are more female respondents with the frequency of 146 or 73% than male respondents. In terms of Age, majority of the respondents belong to the bracket of 23-27 with the frequency of 42 or 21 percent. With regard to the Length of Residency 10-19 years of residency got the highest rank with the frequency of 70 or 35 percent. As of Civil Status married got the higher rank with the frequency of 145 or 72.5 percent. As for Religion, Catholic got a frequency of 120 or 60 percent. As for Educational Attainment, high school graduate got a frequency of 97 or 48.5 percent. As for Number of Family member, most of the respondents had five family members with the frequency of 46 or 23 percent. As for Number of Earners in the family, most of them have only one earner with the frequency of 92 or 46 percent. As for Skills of the respondents, the majority of them are business minded with the frequency of 67 or 33.5 percent. As for Occupation, most of them are vendors with the frequency of 88 or 44 percent. Most of the families have Monthly Income of 6000-7999 with the frequency of 74 or 37 percent. Most of the respondents have Monthly Expenses of 2000-3999 with the frequency of 68 or 34 percent. Based on the summary of findings, the following conclusions were obtained: Majority of the respondents are female with the right age and most of them are married, most of the respondents reached only high school level and have reside for 10-19 years, catholic is the dominant religion, have regular family size. They have just enough income to meet and sustain their daily needs because most of them are work as small scale businessmen. As to the community basis of the residents of Barangay in terms of skills, most of them have a common interest in business with regards to the livelihood needs of respondents they also want business training as their need in livelihood. Guided by the results of the study and aforementioned conclusions, the following researchers hereby recommend: To the people in the community. community participation is a very important factor for development. They should also help the local organizations existing in the community to gain development. To the Government and Non-Government Organization, they should continue to support and provide livelihood programs suited for the needs of the residents. The Barangay Officials should give more guidance to the residents to pursue the program given by the government. And to future researchers, this study can be used as a basis for the related studies in the future ER -
