"As people age their need for long-term care increases and this condition places them into one of the most vulnerable segments of our society. Currently, books are available
addressing the long-term care continuum but none address skilled nursing facility care from a practical perspective. There is a need for a book which will educate college students, preceptors, and administrators-in-training in practical approaches to providing good quality care that positively impacts quality of life. This book will describe the levels of care available to people and discuss in particular the complexity of skilled nursing care which covers both short-term and long-term stays for residents".
