The study used descriptive method to gather information using questionnaire checklist. Specifically, it sought to find out the profile of the respondents in terms of the campus, age, sex, and grade in Filipino Shorthand; the shorthand competencies with respect to accuracy, speed, and transcription; and the common errors encountered with regard to grammar, spelling. transcription rules and punctuation. In interpretation of data the researchers used frequency, percentage, and rank distribution as their statistical treatment. The respondents used total enumeration in selecting the respondents The respondents of the study were the eighty (80) fourth year students in Antipolo, Binangonan, Pilla, Rodriguez, and Tanay campuses that offer BSOA program. The findings of the study are most of the students were young adults, majority were female, and may obtained grades in Filipino Shorthand within the bracket of 1.5-1.9, The students were not competent in terms of accuracy, speed, and transcription. None of the respondents met the qualifying 30-50 words-a-minute with 98 accuracy based on the CHED Memo Order Section 6. Thus, the assessment on Filipino Shorthand competencies of BSOA students resulted to *Not Competent"" Based on the findings of the study, the researchers drafted the following recommendations. More practice and more speed test in writing and transcribing shorthand should be given to be able to master the writing shorthand. A writing contest across campuses may be held more often to motivate students to strengthen their writing skills. Adding another shorthand subject to the curriculum especially in Filipino shorthand so that the student would enhance and master their skills in stenography. The students must improve their self-study regarding their subject in Filipino Shorthand. The students should practice their skills in writing shorthand stroke and shorthand dictation more often. Listening to voice recorded dictation must be also practice by the student to be familiarized with the word. Moreover, the BSOA student council or the Organization rather could also provide a classroom wherein the students could spend their vacant time in improving their skills and make their time useful by having an oral Sitation or by having a quiz is recommende "
