Intended audience Basically, the intended audience of the legend of Bernardo Carpio are all the Filipino people particularly the citizens where the legend originated which is in Brgy. Wawa, Rodriguez, Rizal who has been an instant historical heritage because of the said legend, values that the audience hold that the author or speaker appeals to the primary reason why every other legend is written is to explain certain phenomena that they are not yet to figure out, in this case the legend of Bernardo Carpio is created because of the lack of knowledge of our ancestors and it also appeals to promote love for our country which we badly need in our current generation, treasure our roots and imitate the lessons and values of such bravery, wisdom, and love which could eventually make us, the common man, a "hero" in our own ways. Impersistent communication is very appropriate to be the very structure of communication for this legend because there is no physical evidence of the existence of Bernardo Carpio other than the footprint which is rather not plausible and to what remains to the minds of our ancestors which they successfully passed to our current generation. It is also arranged explicitly because the legend was crystallized in a verbal way and even in written form because of the presence of published works and the internet wherein you can see a wide variety of versions of this legend, oral or literary genre The oral or literary genre that the legend of Bernardo Carpio was following is obvious. The title itself already answered the question and it is legend. Being colonized by the foreign invaders brought bravery and patriotism to the Filipino people which we carried even up to this day. That's why there are a lot of stories or reading materials in the Philippine Literature that depicted those values like in the legend of Bernardo Carpio. These stories were also a manifestation of how we value our independence and the people behind it. time and location shown by the allusions, historical references, or kinds of words it had a certain time sparr particularly because of the historical references that surrounds it, giving it a very specific era, which in this case is during the Spanish conquest witnessing how the national heroes we are well aware of today fought for our liberty, exigency this story is created due to influence during the Spanish conquest. For instance, it is said that Bernardo Carpio is the cause of earthquakes, that is because our ancestors felt the urge to explain that certain phenomenon that they don't know the cause of and because of their imaginative minds, they came up with this legend. The legend is a satirical attempt to overthrow the Spanish occupation almost like how Dr. Jose Rizal wrote Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. The story gave a window of hope our countrymen badly needed during the time they were mistreated by the foreign invaders and because of that, the legend gained sympathy from our fellowmen because it depicts exactly how they want to liberate this country, logos regardless of the imaginative composition of this legend, it been around for a long time way even way back the era of our Filipino heroes, the legend inspired these said men and gave them the audacity to fight for our country just like what Bernardo Carpio did. In fact, Filipino revolutionary heroes Jose Rizal and Andres Bonifacio are said to have paid homage to the Bernardo Carpio legend - the former making a pilgrimage to Montalban, and the latter making the caves of Montalban the secret meeting place for the Katipunan movement.
