This study aimed to identify the reasons and factors of private school teachers why they stayed long in service. The study was conducted during the School Year 2015-2016. The settings of the study was at Roosevelt College -Rodriguez with thirteen (13) teachers who stayed long in service as respondents of the researchers. The study used the qualitative method of research utilizing a questionnaire checklist and documentary (interview) guide/approach.
Based on the gathered and analyzed data, the following findings were elicited from the researchers:
Out of thirteen (13) respondents. Ten (10) were female and three (3) were male. Nine (9) of them passed the LET examination; two (2) of them were detained provision from Magna Carta and the other two (2) did not pass the examination.
Out of 13 respondents, twelve (12) of them stayed long in their service because of the good relationship to their co-teachers and school administration and one of had no comment.
Out of 13 respondents, most of them said that it was not about the money or salary that they were receiving but the work itself, because they were happy and enjoying teaching in private school.
The teachers in private school said that they also stayed long in the service because of their students, they could comply with all the requirements that are needed unlike in public schools.
All of the respondents said that they stayed long in their service because of the benefits that they were receiving like getting 70% discounts for their children's education and advancement in technology and security.
Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions were derived.
Most of the teachers in the private school are female and eligible. They have been teaching for more than twenty years and above. Camaraderie among their co-teachers and just treatment done by the administrators to them. They also added that they like the ambiance of the private school with its facilities and students. Teachers in the private school are given privilege that they consider very remarkable to them like having discounts for the education of their children.
In the light of the findings and conclusions enumerated previously, the following are here by recommended: Students. The students will know the importance of the private school teachers and they will understand and respect their teachers who chose to stay in service. Future Teachers. To serve as an inspiration to the future teachers to teach in private schools not just an experience but also a long time profession. Teachers will know the reason of the private school teachers why they stay long in service, even though the offer in public school is higher than private school. School Administration should give full support and importance to the teachers who are loyal to them. Department of Education should support the teachers in private schools and inspire them to continue giving service in the institution.
