Dissertation note: Undergraduate theses Bachelor of Science in Social Work University of Rizal System Rodriguez, Rizal year of 2023 Summary: In order to end poverty and hunger and to foster sustained, equitable, and Inclusive economic growth, it is crucial to invest in education. Global development initiatives must prioritize increased efforts to improve education access, quality, and affordability. This study aims to know the factors that are affecting youth in Barangay Payatas to drop out from school during pandemic. Most family households lost their job during the pandemic that led 15 out of 20 respondents to drop out from school due to lack of financial support and make a living to support their family. Lack of financial support to buy gadgets and low internet connections make the Youth lose interest in education. 5 out of 20 respondents disclose that they are emotionally unstable. Almost all of the respondents are female, which has 60% of the respondents. In terms of age, the majority of it falling to the age bracket 19-22 years old, accumulating 95%. The school year that most of the respondents drop out from school is from 2020-2022 which has 30%. Majority of the respondent's family bracket are 5-6 members which has 55% and lastly, most of them are having monthly income that ranges 20,000-40,000. The respondents claim that they are not emotionally ready and experienced culture shock on what school typically entails. Being emotionally unstable caused them to lose interest in education. Youth who have dropped out of school claim that just because they stopped attending doesn't mean it is too late for them to finish their education because it is a necessary step toward a better future. Finally, the study asserts that a lack of resources does not prevent dropout Youth from attaching value and believing in what the future might contain if they complete their education.
