This study assessed the impact of student organizations on the academic
performance of BEEd students at the University of Rizal System, Cainta
Campus. It was conducted during the school year 2023-2024.
The study was conducted in consideration of various factors that may
influence academic outcomes, including the level of student engagement within
these organizations, the availability and effectiveness of academic support
systems, and the extent of involvement in extracurricular activities. Additionally,
the study explored how participation in student organizations contributes to the
development of essential skills such as leadership, time management, and
teamwork, all of which may enhance academic success. By examining these
factors, the research sought to provide a comprehensive understanding of how
student organizations shape the academic experiences and performance of
students, while also considering the broader impact of extracurricular.
involvement on personal and academic growth. By incorporating these
considerations, the study can effectively highlight the role of student
organizations in shaping academic and personal success among BEEd students.
The respondents of the study were the First year to Third year BEEd
students composed of seventy-two (72) females and four (4) males with a total
number of seventy-six (76) respondents. They were chosen using purposive
sampling utilizing the total enumeration.
Descriptive method of research was utilized along with mean, frequency,
and rank distribution as the statistical tools of the study.
The researchers utilized an adapted and modified questionnaire checklist
as the main data gathering tool of the study. The academic performance of the
students was evaluated based on the impact of the student organization
affiliation with respect to their self-worth, self-confidence and self-image.
On the profile of the respondents, in terms of age, most respondents are
21 years old or older, are predominantly female. In terms of GWA, most of the
respondents have average between 1.5-1.58 that indicate strong academic
performance, and majority members of the Volunteers Organization
On the impact of Student Organization on the Academic Performance of
the respondents, Self-Worth ranked first with an overall mean of 4.04 and
verbally interpreted as often, self-image ranked second with an overall mean of
3.94 with verbal interpretation as often, and self-confidence ranked third with an
overall mean of 3.89 and verbally interpreted also as often. Overall, the grand.
mean is 3.96 and is verbally interpreted as often which implies that membership
in student organizations impacts the academic performance of the students.
Based on the findings, it was concluded that emotional and learning
support provided within student organizations play a vital role in fostering good
academic performance; and active participation in student organizations
enhances peer connections, emotional bonds, and communication skills, which
contribute to academic performance.
Based on the findings The student should obtain good relationship with
their peers through emotional bond; the students must give their full support to
their academic performance to strengthen their communication; the students
should be more aware regarding to their academic performance and must have
consistent communication to their professor; and lastly to conduct follow up
research similar to this shall be considered for further undertakings.
