Dissertation note: Thesis BSTM University of Rizal System, Antipolo Campus 2015 Summary: This research focused on the contribution of the Our Lady of Abandoned Parish Church to the Tourism industry of Marikina City. The study was conducted on October 2014. The researchers utilized Systematic random sampling, Questionnaire checklist was used to determine the perception of the respondents on Our Lady of Abandoned Parish Church as a tourist destination in Marikina City. The subjects of the study are the tourists and local residents of the Our Lady of Abandoned Parish Church. There were 50 tourists and the 50 local residents attending the church that were taken as respondents. The data gathered were aided with the use of statistical tools such as frequency, Percentage, Rank, mean and one-way ANOVA. The findings revealed that majority of the respondents are 20-30 years, female and single. In terms of the perception of the respondents on the contribution of Our Lady of Abandoned Parish Church with respect to five aspects, the result revealed that its economic, services, physical features, and location are very much contributory to the Tourism Industry of Marikina City. However, its facilities is much contributory to the tourism Industry in Marikina City. Furthermore, findings show that the respondents' age has nothing to do with their perception on the contribution of Our Lady of Abandoned Parish to the Tourism Industry of Marikina City with respect to economic; however it has something to do with their perception in terms of services, physical features,facilities and location. On the other hand, the respondents' sex has nothing to do with their perception on the contribution of Our Lady of Abandoned Parish to the Tourism Industry of Marikina City with respect to economic, services, physical features, facilities and location. Moreover, the respondents' civil status has nothing to do with their perception on the contribution of Our Lady of Abandoned Parish to the Tourism Industry of Marikina City with respect to economic, services and location; however, it has something to do with their perception in terms of physical features and facilities. Based on the aforementioned findings, the following are hereby recommended: The Marikina City Government, Tourism council, and the church should strive more in promoting Our Lady of Abandoned Parish Church in order to attract more tourists and cater and serve not only to the adults but also the different age brackets, civil status and sex: The church should provide enough parking space and proper sign boards required immediate attention to easily locates the church; The church must be continuously preserved and its authentic ancestral characters which is one of the reasons why people are getting attracted to visit the place and for future generation; The future researchers should find another helpful research studies
