Dissertation note: Undergraduate Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Office Administration Major in Office Management, University of Rizal System, Rodriguez, Rizal 2019 Summary: The researchers conducted this study to gather data about the implementation of the Solo Parents' Welfare Act of 2000 (RA 8972). The research was focused on the Solo Parent Office Personnel as the respondents of this study. Variables were considered to determine the extent of implementation of the subject matters such as Flexible Work Schedule, Work Discrimination, Parental Leave, Educational Benefits and Medical Assistance. The study used descriptive evaluative method of research and the respondents were the 32 solo parent office personnel. The study was conducted at the Central Office, National Capital Region and Region IV of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. It employed statistical tools such as frequency. percentage, and rank distribution, weighted mean and One-way ANOVA. The questionnaire checklist served as the main instrument in gathering the needed information, which is based on the law. From the gathered data the following findings were drawn: As to the profile of the respondents in terms of age, majority of the respondents belonged to age bracket 27-37 years old with a frequency of 19 and obtained 59.4 percent. In terms of gender, females outnumbered males wherein the former had 26 or 81.3 percent while the latter had 6 or 18.8 percent. In terms of position, Admin Staff got the highest frequency of 19 or 59.4 percent, while SWO had the lowest frequency of 1 or 3.1 percent. And in terms of Educational attainment, college graduate had the frequency of 29 or 90.6 percent, while with those masteral units had 3 frequencies or 9.4 percent As to the implementation of flexible work schedule, it was found out that the following items has a total computed mean of 4.06 with a verbal interpretation of Implemented, The agency develops and prepares a formal written policy on company flexible work plans that is detailed, clearly-stated and non-discriminatory has the highest weighted mean of 4.56 and a verbal interpretation of Very Much Implemented. For work discrimination, 4.24 is the average weighted mean and verbally interpreted as Very Much Implemented. The agency develops policies and procedures to provide information and solution to ensure harassment and discrimination do not occur within the workplace has the highest weighted mean of 4.54 and a verbal interpretation of Very Much Implemented. As to Parental Leave, almost all items in Parental leave have a verbal interpretation of Very Much Implemented except the item number 3 with a verbal interpretation of implemented and have a weighted mean of 4.18. For Educational Assistance, it is verbally interpreted as Implemented and has an average of 4.17 weighted mean. In 5 items enumerated under Educational Benefits, the number 5 item has the weighted mean of 4.46 is the only verbally interpreted as Very Much implemented. And last which is the Medical Assistance, it has the average of 4.00 as weighted mean and verbal interpretation of implemented. The number 2 item which is, the solo parent employee may avail of parent leave under any circumstances, is the only one that has a verbal interpretation of Very much implemented and a weighted mean of 4.21. The study found out that there is no significant difference between the implementation of Solo Parents' Welfare Act of 2000 in flexible work schedule, work discrimination, parental leave, educational benefits and medical assistance in terms of age, gender, position and educational attainment. From the summary of findings, the researchers arrived at the following conclusions: Regardless of age, gender, position and educational attainment Solo Parents' Welfare Act implementation is present at Department of Social Welfare and Development Solo Parent Act has been implemented on the aspects considered, however, improvement is still needed, hence, various activities may be incorporated in the future. The profile of the respondents has nothing to do with their perceptions on the implementation of Solo Parents' Welfare Act of 2000. Based from the findings revealed in the study, the following recommendations are hereby offered: Department of Social Welfare and Development should focus on implementing the law to support and prove the need of their employees especially those single parents. Solo parent Office personnel should keep tracking to the progress of the Implementation of Solo Parents' Welfare Act Of 2000 for better service. Future Researchers may help them to conduct future related studies which the objectives of knowing the implementation of Solo Parents' Welfare Act of 2000. Solo Parent Organization. This will serve as their reference on keeping track about the benefits that their members should receive in their respective work place.
