520 _aEXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The Study aimed to determine the ethnopharmacology of plants found in selected Barangays of Talim Island-Binangonan side. It specifically aimed to document the medicinal plants present in Kasile, Bombong, Kinagatan, Kinabogan, Bangad, and Buhangin in terms of family, aliments, plant part used, method of application, methods of preparation for use local availability and distribution. The study was conducted in the selected Barangays in Talim Island Binangonan Side during school year 2014-2015. It used survey research design and descriptive method to determine the Ethnopharmacological practices within the selected Barangays. Survey instrument together with interviwes and discussion with respondents such as knowledgeable elders and healer were conducted to determine the folkloric medicinal practices and uses of each plant species. The medicinal plants that are being used and found it in the selected Barangays of Talim Island -Binangonan side in terms of local name, genus and species family, local availability, distribution, plant part use, aliments method of preparation of use, method of application and methods of storage and processing were determined through the questionnaire and interviews with the informants. And to determine the folkloric medicinal utilization of the plants present on the selected Barangays in Talim Island- Binangonan Side in terms of aliments, family frequency and percentage was used. Based from the findings, it was conducted that there are many available medicinal plants in the surroundings of Talim Island that are being used as medicines. As the result of this study, it is recommended to encourage the people in the community of Talim Island to continue the use of documented medicinal plants and conduct information dissemination about the propagation and conservation of medicinal plants in the area. It is also recommended to conduct similar study on the other side of Talim Island and validation of pharmacological activity of undocumented plants should be done.
