520 _aEXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The main objective of the study was to show that social support mediate between the self-esteem and depression of adolescents with separated parents. The respondents were the thirty students of University of Rizal System Morong. The study utilized the descriptive quantitative design. The findings showed that the level of self-esteem on adolescents was moderately affected by the separation of their parents. Moreover, the level of social support on adolescents with separated parents in terms of friends and significant others were getting so much support, while enough support from their family. On the level of depression the adolescents experiencing moderate depression because of the separation of their parents. Self-esteem was significantly related to social support in terms of family, friends and significant others, it means that the higher social support may lead to higher self-esteem. Moreover, depression was significantly related to social support in terms of family, friends and significant others, it means that the lower social support may lead to higher depression. Therefore, social support in terms of family, friends and significant others mediates between self-esteem and depression among the adolescents with separated parents. On the basis of the preceding findings and conclusion, the study recommends that The Office of the Students Development Services (OSDS) may raise a teambuilding programs and activities to promote the value of social support in the self-esteem and depression of the students. The Universities or Colleges may initiate the awareness of the importance of social support on the self-esteem and depression of students through information dissemination on internet, blogs or even brochures.
