| 520 | _aThe study was undertaken to determine the implementation of Research and Development (R&D) Program among the public schools in District II of Rodriguez, Rizal. It was conducted in selected elementary schools within the district during the School Year 2019-2020. It sought to answer the formulated problems as to the status of implementation of R&D Program, the research capabilities of the public school teachers in writing research proposals, and the problems, challenges, and opportunities encountered by the teachers and school administrators in the implementation of research and development program. The study made use of descriptive- evaluative method of research to accomplish the purpose of this study Frequency and percentage distribution were used to determine the status of implementation of the program in terms of the school profile, number of research conducted, number of research presented and published, and the awards received. Mean was used to measure the research capabilities of teachers in terms of writing research proposal. Descriptive- qualitative research with thematic analysis was utilized to collect informative data on the problems, challenges, and opportunities encountered by the teachers and school heads in the implementation of the program. The respondents of the study were the eight (8) teachers who were actively involved in research and had research outputs and the five (5) school heads of the selected schools. The five (5) selected schools and the respondents were purposively chosen since they had the most number of research outputs. | ||
