520 _aThe Department of Education implemented innovative methods for teaching in order to prepare students for better lives in the future and to meet the needs of our nation's current circumstances. The hybrid flexible, or HyFlex, course format is an instructional approach that combines face-to-face (F2F), online learning, and asynchronous work. Therefore, the study focused on the performance of students in Science 8 in HyFlex learning modality as input to proposed enhancement of the learning continuity plan The data collection was conducted with 57 students, a total population of the two (2) sections of grade 8 learners in Village School of Parkwoods for AY 2023-2024, who responded to the questionnaire checklist, and seven (7) students, seven (7) teachers, and seven (7) parents who were purposively selected to participate in an interview. The study employ a mixed-method research design that combines and integrates quantitative and qualitative research, particularly the sequential explanatory designs. Based from the gathered data the following were stablished: the majority of respondents were female; cellphones are the most commonly used device among respondents, and Wi-Fi was the predominant choice. In terms of instructional modality, the majority of respondents attended both synchronous and face-to-face classes. The mean scores for assessments ranged from fair to satisfactory while participation in discussions received satisfactory scores, and the submission of output was rated very satisfactory. No statistically significant differences were found in performance based on sex, gadgets used, or internet connectivity across all variables. However, a significant You sent difference was observed in quarterly exam performance based on instructional modality attended, with students attending both synchronous and face-to-face classes performing differently from those attending only face-to-face classes. Both students, teachers, and parents find the HyFlex learning modality beneficial because of the flexibility, easy access to online educational resources, and advancement it offers. However, respondents encounter significant challenges in technology accessibility, internet connectivity, technical issues, and fostering focus for students. Based on the findings the researcher concludes that the data highlights a predominance of female respondents and a clear preference for cellphones as the primary device for learning, accompanied by widespread use of Wi-Fi for internet connectivity. The majority of respondents favor a blended approach to instruction, participating in both synchronous and face-to-face classes, Student performance across various assessment types falls within the fair to satisfactory range, with submission of output particularly excelling, indicating a positive level of engagement and understanding in the learning process. While no differences in performance were observed based on demographic factors or technology use, the disparity in quarterly exam performance among different instructional modalities suggests the need for further investigation into the impact of varied teaching approaches on student outcomes, The HyFlex learning modality is proven beneficial to both students, teachers, and parents. However, challenges and difficulties is still evident.
