This was conducted during the First Grading Period of the school year 2014-2015 in Montalban Heights National High School with a total population of one-hundred (100) first year high school students. The descriptive method of research was used with the constructed power point presentation and multiple-choice questionnaire as the main instruments utillized to gather appropriate data. Mean, Frequency, and Percentage distribution were utilized in determine the performance of the Grade 7 students in lefogy with and without exposure to Power Point presentation 1-test was used to find out if a significant difference existed in the performance of the respondents exposed and not exposed to Power Point presentation Based on the data gathered from the respondents, the following findings were obtained The test mean score of the group which was not exposed to power point presentation obtained 41.74 while the other group which was exposed to power point presentation had a mean score of 45.4. There was a significant difference between the mean scores of the respondents, since the p-value 000 was less than 0.05 of level of significance. Based on the findings, conclusions were drawn. The exposure of the students to the constructed power point presentation gave more improvement to their academic performance. The improvement in the performance of the students was found significant. The constructed power point presentation can be utilized as a substitute teaching material in Biology. Through the findings and the conclusions drawn, the researchers came up with the following recommendations: Students can learn more by using teaching materials such as power point presentation. In this presentation, they could be more attentive and well-motivated. Appropriate texts, animations, transitions, and designs should be included to catch their attention and interest. Teachers should create teaching materials such as power point presentation. These can help them avoid the traditional way of teaching wherein teacher used chalkboard and post manila papers. With this, students will become attentive learners.Curriculum planner and administrators of Alternative Learning System (ALS) can use the study as a guide to create an effective teaching- learning process. They can provide constructed power point presentation to help their studentslearn effectively. Parents should encourage their children in attending school every day. The constructed power point presentation can be used as teaching materials in biology for Grade 7 students. The constructed power point presentation may be subjected for revisions in the future, depending on the needs of the students and on the decision of the authors. | ||
