Specifically, the study attempted to design and construct Solar-Powered Automotive Tool Cabinet, perform try-out and revision, determine the level of acceptability of the developed Solar-Powered Automotive Tool Cabinet in terms of design, usefulness, durability, and safety and maintenance, as well as to determine the level of its performance in terms of weight capacity and develop a user’s manual for the use of the Solar-Powered Automotive Tool Cabinet. The respondents of the study were ten (10) experts composed of: three (3) mechanical experts, three (3) electrical experts, and four (4) automotive experts, and twenty (20) automotive technology students, for a total of thirty (30) respondents, from the University of Rizal System-Morong Campus. The study employed descriptive and developmental research method or research utilizing adapted questionnaire checklist to gather the data needed to determine the level of acceptability of the developed solar-powered automotive tool cabinet. On the design and construction of the developed Solar-Powered Automotive Toolbox, it was found out that it can be constructed and developed out of reusable materials. The researchers first prepared a working drawing of the automotive tool cabinet as the basis of the design of the output developed. On the try-out and revisions of the developed Solar-Powered Automotive Tool Cabinet, it was subjected to simple test and experimentation by the researchers where effects were discovered and revised accordingly. The findings of the study showed that in terms of design, usefulness, durability, and safety and maintenance, the developed Solar-Powered Automotive Tool Cabinet was found to be Very Much Acceptable. The developed Solar-Powered Automotive Tool Cabinet can hold and store 5kg to 25 kg of tools without having any defects. It can also be transferred from one place to another with ease because of the durable wheels. On the basis of the findings and conclusions drawn, it is recommended that the Solar-Powered Automotive Tool Cabinet may be utilized to store and organize tools, and to assist at work even at night. Moreover, future researches may be conducted on the Solar-Powered Automotive Tool Cabinet focusing on its level of performance in terms of charging and discharging. | ||
