| 520 | _aThe study aimed to know the effects of various ratio of ipil-ipil (Leucaena leucocephala) leaf meal on the growth and survival rate of Silver Carp (Hypopthalmichthys molitrix) fingerlings. The experiment has three treatments and replicated thrice. Each treatment has various ratio of ipil-lpil leaf meal. For treatment 1, 5 gram of ipil-ipil leaf meal, treatment 2, 10 gram of lpiI-ipil leaf meal, and for treatment 3, 15 gram of ipil-ipil leaf meal. The experiment was monitored for a period of forty-five days, sampling of weights and length from initial to final was recorded, every fourteen days. The initial date of sampling was done on July 20,2002 and the last sampling was done on August 31, 2002. Also the water parameters (temperature and pH) were monitored, in order to update the required temperature and pH for the fish that affect the growth performance of the fish. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was utilized as the experimental design and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) used as statistical tool to know the significant difference at 5 percent level of probability. The experimental finding showed that treatment three having 15-gram ratio of ipil-ipil leaf meal gave the best result in all the treatment used, having the highest mean weight of 1.79 grams and it has highest mean length of 3.79 centimeters. In terms of survival rate, treatment three also gave the highest survivals of 50 percent. Based on the result of using F-test, it revealed that there was no significant difference on the effects of various ratio of ipil-ipil leaf meal on the growth and survival rate of Silver carp fingerlings. Therefore, the null hypothesis was accepted and the alternatives was rejected. | ||
