520 _aThe study conducted to determine effects of formulated feeds with different crude protein content on the growth of African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) fingerlings. Three treatments replicated thrice, were composed of ingredients such as fishmeal, ipil-ipil meal, rice bran and skim milk. Different crude protein level was used such as 34% in treatment one, 39% in treatment two and 44% in treatment three. The study covered 45 days of feeding experiment and sampling was done every fifteen days. The length and the weight of the fish was measured every sampling. Completely Randomized Design was utilized as the experimental design of the study and Analysis of Variance was used to determine the significant difference at 5% level of probability. Findings showed that treatment three gave the best result in terms of length and weight. However, good growth and food utilization efficiencies were obtained with all the diets. No nutritional related disease was observed in fish using the formulated feeds. There was no visible symptom of toxicity. The computed value of 2.5 and 5.0 in terms of length and weight was lower than the tabular value. Therefore, the null hypothesis that there was no significant difference among the thee treatments was accepted and the alternative was rejected.
