EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study was conducted to determine the relationship of linguistic and logical reasoning skills of Grade 10 learners. It was undertaken at University of Rizal System Morong Campus during Academic Year 2017-2018. The respondents of the study were the learners from two sections of Grade 10 of University of Rizal System Laboratory School. The study used the descriptive-correlational method of research, utilizing the adapted test questionnaire as the main instrument in gathering the necessary data and information to attain the study. The findings showed that grammar and vocabulary do not have a relationship to the computational and problem solving skills but reading comprehension has a relationship to the problem solving skills of Grade 10 learners. Based on the findings, the study concluded that the Grade 10 learners are more competent in understanding text or words than observing correct grammar and vocabularies. Problem solving skills depend on reading comprehension skills. In line with the conclusion, it was recommended that reading comprehension skills should be given a prominent role during word problem solving. Learners should be exposed more on reading comprehension to enhance their mathematical word problem analysis. Provide intervention materials to improve learners reading comprehension. Teachers should teach learners how to effectively solve mathematical word problems, mental representation skills and reading comprehension skills should both be part of the mathematics education program. Conduct parallel studies considering other variables and other groups of learners.
