Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Guidance and Counseling) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to find out the extent of the occupational information and career choice of grade 10 students in selected public schools in Rizal. This study was conducted in selected grade 10 students in public schools in Rizal during the academic year 2015-2016. The researchers used a descriptive type of research to gather the need data. The instrument is subjected to content validation by the experts in the field of Guidance and Counseling and related areas. The study revealed the profile of the respondents in term of age, sex, monthly family income, and parent's educational attainment, and the aspects of occupational information such as vocational counseling, peer influence, family/relative influence, and the media. The aspects of career choice such as professional and non-professional. The study was conducted in selected grade 10 students in public high schools in Rizal including Cardona National High School, Teresa National High School, San Guillermo National High School. The researchers used the frequency, percentage, and rank distribution, mean and one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) as the statistical tools. Based on the summary of findings, the following conclusions were drawn. Majority of the respondents were female, ages ranges from 16-17, and monthly family income ranges P10,000.00 - P15,000.00. In terms of educational attainment of mother and father, the perception of the respondents was found as not. There is no significance difference on the career choice of respondents with respect to professional and non-professional in terms of their profile. The table 16 presents the significant difference between the occupational information and career choice of the respondent. On the basis of the above findings and conclusions, the following are recommended. Career guidance program should be regularly to guide students in choosing a career. Inviting successful graduates of the school to talk on career preparation is highly suggested. Parallel studies maybe conducted considering other variables.
