The study was conducted at San Jose National High School, San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal during second grading period of school year 2017-2018. The study made use of experimental design, specifically the match group using pretest posttest design. The respondents were chosen using the match group design for both the experimental and control groups where each student matched with another student who has the same scores in diagnostic test in Chemistry. From the analysis of the data, both the experimental and the control groups obtained higher mean scores during the posttests than the pretests. However, the experimental group showed much higher mean difference. The increases in the mean scores of both the experimental and the control groups during the pretests and posttests were found significant. There was significant difference between the posttests mean scores of the experimental and control groups in all of the learning areas in Chemistry for Grade 9 except in the topic Mole.
