Dissertation note: Thesis BSBA-FM University of Rizal System, Binangonan 2017 Summary: This study primarily aims to determine the Financial Management of Private Colleges of Taytay Rizal, Calendar Year 2015 on two areas namely, cash disbursement and cash receipts. The subjects of the study were the financial officers of the private colleges in Taytay, Rizal. There were seven (7) private colleges in Taytay, Rizal namely AMA Computer Learning Center Taytay which is located at Manila E Rd, Taytay, Rizal. It was established in 1986 as an extension center of AMA Computer College. Next is Asian Institute of Computer Studies (AICS) is located at ground Floor, Manila East Arcade, Manila East Road, Taytay. While College of Arts and Science of Asia and the Pacific (CASAP) is located at JEM BLDG Rizal Ave, Taytay, Rizal. vii On the other hand, Trent Information First Technical Carrier Institute (TIFTCI) was established in January 2007 and is located at RLC Bldg., National Road, Barangay San Juan, Taytay, Rizal. Also National College of Business and Arts (NCBA) is situated at National Road, Barangay San Juan, Taytay, Rizal. However, Siena College of Taytay is located at E. Rodriguez Avenue, Barangay, San Isidro, Taytay, Rizal. Siena College of Taytay, formerly St. Catherine Academy. Lastly, Institution of Creative Computer Technology (ICCT) is situated at Cabrera Rd, Taytay, Rizal. In Rizal its main campus is in the municipality of Cainta, other campuses were in San Mateo, Cogeo, Antipolo, Taytay, Binangonan and Angono. Each School has only one financial officer or cashier and/or registrar, therefore, the researchers only have seven (7) respondents. The researchers chose to focus their study in Taytay, Rizal because it is rated to be one of the progressive municipalities, it is economically, demographically and politically qualified, a plan to convert it into a city was set aside, pending social and administrative reforms in the municipality and private colleges are in all places of Taytay. The researchers assumed that in terms of the profile of the respondents, 28.6% belongs to the age of 35 Years old and above, 42.9% were female, 85.7% were married, 100% were masteral graduate and were financial officer, and have been working for 8 to 15 Years. While in terms of School profile 42.9% were in the form of corporation, 85.7% owns building, 28.6% were existing from 30 Years and above, most have 20 to 80 number of employees, 42.9% were 500 and above number of students enrolled and most has a 350,000 and above initial capital. The viii researchers' assumption in terms of profile of the respondents and in terms of School profile does not match any on the findings and result. The researchers also assumed that 85.7% of Private Colleges in Taytay, Rizal have problems on the financial management in terms of cash disbursements, and 14.3% of Private Colleges in Taytay, Rizal has no problem in the financial management in terms of cash disbursements. On the other hand, 85.7% of Private Colleges in Taytay, Rizal have problems on the financial management in terms of cash receipts, and 14.3% of Private Colleges in Taytay, Rizal has no problem in the financial management in terms of cash receipts. But the result was contrary to the assumptions made by the researchers. The assumptions of the researchers in the financial management in terms of cash disbursement were not true. All Private Colleges in Taytay, Rizal has no problem in the financial management in terms of cash disbursement, and their assumptions of the researchers in the financial management in terms of cash receipts were not true. All Private Colleges in Taytay, Rizal has no problem in the financial management in terms of cash receipts. Based on the researcher's findings and results, the respondents make sure that all disbursements are properly supported by evidence of receipts and they invest excess cash for the benefit of the institution and they make frequent deposit of cash collection. In concluding the outcome of their study, the researchers find the recommendations useful to the respondents namely; the respondents should avoid borrowing from outside resources to meet cash deficits, they should continue to invest for other profitable activities or businesses which can also generate funds ix for future projects, should continue to require approval from authorized officers before releasing checks, continue to prepare monthly and annual cash flow to monitor the funds of the institution, make frequent cash deposits to the bank for safekeeping of the funds and for future use.
