This study aimed to determine the challenges encountered by Bachelor of elementary education students in a new normal environment. This study was conducted in University of Rizal System Rodriguez Campus during the school year 2021-2022 with a total of 12 respondents. To attain the objective of the study, the researchers formulated questions regarding the challenges encountered by bachelor of elementary education students in the new normal environment.
Based upon the data collected, interpreted, and analyzed the researchers came up with the following findings:
On the profile of respondents in terms of sex, female respondent's outnumbered males. In terms of age, there were three students who are 19 years old, two students, both 20 and 21 years old, and five students who are 22 years old. In terms of academic level, there are three respondents each year from the first to fourth year. In terms of monthly income, most of the respondents have a minimum monthly income. In terms of gadgets, 5 of the respondents are using cell phone and 7 of the respondents are using laptop in the mode of learning.
The challenges encountered by the respondents in the new normal environment were lack of a comfortable learning environment to study; procrastination when all the tasks come together at the same time; balancing work and school tasks; poor Wi-Fi connectivity; internet sites that aren't credible.
On how the respondents deal and cope with these challenges encountered in the new normal environment. Learners become optimistic when it comes to dealing with challenges in a new normal setting, they look at the positive outcome of these challenges for the reason that they can get knowledge from it and use it in their future teaching profession as stated. Learners identified adaptability as a personal resource that may support their online learning experience and achievement during such times.
