Project Development Report

The Project Developrnent Report was entitled FPJ's Hog Finishing Project.
The project title came frorn the name of the proponents F-Francis Santiago, P-
Parcero, Melvin and J-Jason Santiago. The project was managed by the
proponents who were financed by their paents. The project circulated in one
cycle and started on July 22, 2014
The project was conducted at StioMacaingalan Barangay Puray
Rodriguez, Rizal because of some factors such as availability of water supply,
distance to neighbours, safe from intruders, direction of prevailing winds in
relation to neighbours, acoessible to land for manure handling and favorable
condition, The proponerits reconstruct he existing pigpen due tosome parts of
the pigpen were damaged Also the welfare of the caretaker was able to learned
and experienced in terms of raising and hogs care
On July 22, 2014 the proponents purchased the stock at the vicinity of
SitioDuhat Barangay San Isidro, Rodriguez Rizal The stock purchased was the
crossbred of Duroc and Large white, whichwerefour (4) female arnd four (4) male
with a total of eight (😎 heads. The other supplies and materials were purchased
at the vicinity of Barangay San lsidro, Rodrguez Rizal.
Feeding management was done by the proponents in restricted feeding
and shifting of feeds was done gradually to prevent upset the feeding behavíour
of the hogs. During its growing stage the proponents used four types

Water was given by proponents through installing two nipple drinkers at
diherent site of a pigpen which was connected to water container and the
proponents aways filled the container to make sure the availability of water into
hogs Cleaning was done by the proponents through picking of manure using
broomstick and dustpan then dumped to the deep pitAfter that, the proponents
used water hose and broomstick to eliminate the remaining manure. Cleaning
was done before and after feeding
Disinfecting the pigpen was done by the proponents after cleaning the
flooring and wals using broomstick, hand brush and detergent powder with
water. After that, the proponents mixed 20 ml of disinfectant (benzalkonium
chloride) with 1 gallon of water which was sprayed thoroughly to the walls and
flooring.
The proponents dig a deep pit for the manure handling where the manure
was placed to minimize the spread of diseases and bad odour. The proponents
did the health management through maintaining the proper sanitation and
dryness of floor. In addition, the proponents gaveantitbacterial fortified with
vitarmins and anthelmentics through mixing to water and feeds.
Before marketing, the proponents canvassed for a buyer to ensure that all
producadwifl be sold. The proponents started the marketing after 99h days of
taising up to 132 days The hogs were sold in dress weight at retail basis and
have a gross sale of eighty thousand seventy-four pesos and thirty centavos
