It also investigated on the significant difference in the performance of the respondents in the pre-test and posttest.

The results were tabulated and statistically treated using mean, frequency and percentage distribution to show the pre-test and posttest performance of the respondents in sentence structure, parallelism, voice and tense. T-test was used in getting the significant difference between the pre-test and posttest performance of the respondents in sentence structure, parallelism, voice and tense towards the effectiveness of tutorial services in grammar

Based on the analysis and statistical treatment applied to the data gathered, the following findings were summarized

The mean performance of the respondents in Sentence Structure from their pre-test was 3.5000, While in Parallelism, the respondents had a mean performance of 3.000. In Voice, the respondents had a mean performance of 3.2333. And in Tense, their pre-test had a mean of 5.1333

In the performance of the respondents in posttest, the mean in Sentence Structure was 7.0333. While in Parallelism, the mean performance of the respondents was 3.9333. In Voice, the mean performance of the respondents was 4.3667. And the performance of the respondents in Tense was 3.9667.

There was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest performance of the respondents towards the Effectiveness of tutorial Service in Grammar which revealed in the computed P value of 0.000 in sentence structure, 0.028 in parallelism, 0.030 in voice and 0.027 in tense which were all less than 0.05.

Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions were drawn Post test performance of the respondents in Sentence Structure, Parallelism, and Voice were higher than their performance in pre-test. However, in terms of Tenses, the pretest of the respondents is higher than their posttest. In Sentence Structure and Voice, the tutorial services were effective, in Parallelism were less effective and in terms of Tense were not effective. There was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test performance of the respondents towards the Effectiveness of tutorial Services in Grammar

In light of the foregoing findings and conclusions, the following were recommended: The findings should serve as a guide for the administration to initiate English Proficiency Program or Tutorial Services as part of the curriculum of the freshmen teacher education students. Teachers should give more drills and exercises to improve the English proficiency of the college students. Further application will help enhance what they have learned during their grade school and high school. Parents should monitor their child's learning progress as part of their responsibilities. They should work hand in hand with the teachers to ensure better learning. Students should devote more time in studying rules in grammar and answer exercises and drills that will help them apply what they have learned. Future researchers should conduct further studies in order to prove or disprove the results of this study. |
