EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study developed and validated an Achievement Test in Mathematics for Grade 2 learners using Mother Tongue. The research was conducted at University of Rizal System Laboratory Schools Morong, Rizal during the school year 2017-2018. The participants of the study were the Grades 2 and 3 learners of University of Rizal System Morong Laboratory Schools who were purposively chosen and the study used the descriptive and developmental research method. In the construction of the Achievement Test, the teachers of Mathematics were consulted and Curriculum guide for the information needed in developing the test. Lessons included in the Achievement Test were Whole Numbers, Addition and Subtraction of Whole Numbers, Comparing and Ordering fraction, Geometry and Measurement. The Achievement Test underwent face and content validation by the experts. The test was the main instrument in gathering the data needed in the study. Qualitative discussion, item analysis, Spearman rho, mean and standard deviations were the statistical tools used to answer the problems of the study. The study revealed that the developed Achievement Test in Mathematics for Grade 2 learners using Mother Tongue was valid and reliable. This was justified by the computed index of difficulty, index of discrimination and Spearman rho. As revealed by the Achievement Test scores, it was found out that the level of performance of Grade 2 learners in Mathematics using Mother Tongue was High. Thus, the Achievement Test helped the learners to easily comprehend the said subject matter. Based on the findings and conclusion, the study recommended the following; the developed Achievement Test in Mathematics for Grade 2 learners using Mother Tongue may be used by the teacher as well as the learners, the school may use Mother Tongue as medium of instruction in teaching Mathematics for Grades 1 to 3, a parallel study maybe conducted considering other lessons in Mathematics and further validation of the Achievement Test may be prioritized.
