This study aimed to determine the difficulties encountered by the freshman students of Valley High Academy in solving mathematical problems in ratio and proportion. School Year 2009-2010.
The researchers made use of the descriptive method of research to describe the nature of the prevailing situation during the conduct of the study. A validated 30-item questionnaire was administered to the 30 selected freshman students of Valley High Academy who were chosen through a random sampling using the fish bowl technique.
