Dissertation note: Undergraduate Thesis Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics University of Rizal System, Rodriguez, Rizal 2014 Summary: This study aimed to determine the performance in problem solving strategy of grade 8 students. This was conducted during the school year 2014- 2015 at Kasiglahan Village National High School. The profile of the respondents in terms of sex and previous grade in mathematics, also, the performance of the respondents in problem solving strategy was answered. The null hypothesis drawn in the study: there is no significant difference between the profiles of the respondents in problem solving strategy was tested. The study employed Descriptive Method specifically with Evaluative Design for the interpretation of data based on the performance of the students in problem solving strategy. The respondents consisted of sixty (60) randomly selected grade 8 students at Kasiglahan Village National High School. The instrument used in the study was thirty (30) item validated researcher- made test and evaluation of performance. Researcher-made test were scrutinized and validated by the experts. Then the conduct of study followed which gathered underwent tabulation to determine the frequency and percentage distribution. The test was conducted to determine the performance of grade 8 students in problem solving strategy in a specific learning area. Then it was followed by getting score gathering of the test which data were subjected to appropriate statistical treatment, analysis, and interpretation.
