Dissertation note: Undergraduate Thesis Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics University of Rizal System, Rodriguez, Rizal 2011 Summary: This endeavor aimed to know the level of performance in solving worded problem of quadratic equation among fourth year students at San Mateo National High School where the respondents were 100 fourth year students. This study used the descriptive method utilizing a twenty-item test prepared by the researchers based on the following topics on Mathematics: word problem and quadratic equation. The problems were discussed utilizing the appropriate statistical tools such as frequency and percentage distribution, weighted mean and one way ANOVA. Frequency and percentage distribution was used to determine the profile of the respondents in terms of sex and grade point average. Weighted mean was used to determine the level of performance of the respondents in some topics in quadratic equation. From this, ANOVA was used to reveal the significant differences on the level of performance of the respondents when grouped and ungrouped according to profile. The descriptive research design was used to conduct the study. A set of questionnaires was used as instrument in gathering data. Data were gathered, tabulated, analyzed, and interpreted. The performances in word problem of the respondents on quadratic equations got a mean of 10. 63 with the verbal interpretation of good. It implies that the word problem came in as average task for the respondents. Then the null hypothesis stating that there is no significant difference on the level of performance of the respondents when grouped and ungrouped according to sex was rejected, but the level of performance of the respondents when grouped and ungrouped according to the grade point average was a failure to reject, meaning there is a significant difference between the level of performance and grade point average. Based on the summary of findings, the following conclusions were drawn: Among the topics of word problem and quadratic equation the respondents, were found to be on the average. There is a significant difference on the level of performance among respondents when grouped and ungrouped according to grade point average.

This endeavor aimed to know the level of performance in solving worded problem of quadratic equation among fourth year students at San Mateo National High School where the respondents were 100 fourth year students.

Based on the summary of findings, the following conclusions were drawn:

Among the topics of word problem and quadratic equation the respondents, were found to be on the average.

There is a significant difference on the level of performance among respondents when grouped and ungrouped according to grade point average.
