This research study explores the transformational impact of the documentary film “Naked Truth” in redefining societal views of professional nude models in the field of arts. This campaign intends to bring light on the lives, motivations, and issues experienced by people who choose to pursue a career in nude modeling, removing the stigma and preconceived assumptions connected with this artistic profession in a period marked by shifting societal norms and a growing emphasis on body positivity. The research employs a multi-methodological approach, combining quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis, in-depth interviews, competitive analysis, SWOT analysis, theories and literature analysis, as well as surveys in order to understand the impact of “Naked Truth” on viewers’ perceptions. The study explores the diverse perspectives portrayed in the documentary and their influence on developing perceptions regarding nudity in art and its practitioners through in-depth interviews with professional nude models, artists, and non-artists. The study found that respondents had an understanding in nude modeling and nudity-themed artwork, with the majority supporting it as a profession despite recognizing the discrimination that nude models experience in today’s society. Preferences for promotion and marketing methods focused on visually appealing posters and minimalist designs, emphasizing the importance of aesthetics in grabbing audience attention. Social media platforms have evolved as an important medium for effective documentary advertising, highlighting the role of online communities in reaching the intended audience. The documentary’s beneficial impact, as evidenced by viewer reaction, demonstrates its success in opposing misconceptions and promoting respect for nude artists and models. For future researchers interested in conducting similar studies, comprehensive planning and a well-thought-out approach, including marketing and appropriate research theories, will be critical to developing a competitive edge on a national scale. The proposal to investigate other art-related forms other than documentary film gives opportunities for ongoing education and understanding of nude models in the arts. Proposing the inclusion of LGBTQ+ viewpoints in future studies addresses a gap in existing research and allows for a greater understanding of the topic. Engaging with larger groups and organizations is also encouraged for more resources and campaign reach, assuring the long-term impact of attempts to redefine social misconceptions about nude modeling.
