GS THESIS Master of Arts in Education Major in Educational Mathematics University of Rizal System, Rodriguez, Rizal 2024
Cultivating numerical abilities stands as a cornerstone for both academic success and cognitive development, playing a pivotal role in shaping students academic achievements and cognitive growth
This study embarked on a comprehensive investigation to evaluate the effectiveness of mnemonic strategies, encompassing Keyword Mnemonics, Letter and Word Mnemonic Strategies, and Chunking in bolstering the numerical proficiency of Grade 7 students at Sauyo High School throughout the Academic Year 2023 2024 The Control Group exhibits notable improvement from the pretest to the posttest, indicating progress in their mathematical proficiency. The effectiveness of the instructional methodologies employed in both experimental groups is evident. The experimental groups have higher mean scores in posttest compared to the control group
Conventional teaching methods and innovative approaches utilizing mnemonic strategies, yield positive outcomes in enhancing students' mathematical abilities. Mnemonic strategies are highly effective in enhancing mathematical proficiency among students, while conventional teaching also yield substantial growth performance in mathematics among students. Mnemonic strategies exhibit greater effectiveness to conventional teaching methodologies in fostering better performance in mathematics among students.
Math Teachers can continuously integrate mnemonic strategies into math lessons, utilizing diverse mnemonic techniques such as acronyms, visual imagery. and rhymes to cater to different learning styles and enhance student engagement and comprehension. Students may actively engage with mnemonic strategies by participating in mnemonic creation and utilization activities, recognizing their role in enhancing understanding, retention, and confidence in mathematics. Future Researchers may explore the intersection of mnemonic strategies with emerging technologies such as educational apps or virtual reality simulations, assessing their potential to further enhance mathematical learning experiences and outcomes.
