Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Guidance and Counseling) -- University of Rizal System-Morong.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The researchers aimed to determine and analyze the extent of parents' involvement in elementary pupils' academic achievement. This study was conducted in Wawa Elementary School in Tanay, Rizal, academic year 2014-2015. The researchers used the descriptive type of research to gather information needed in study. The instrument was subjected to content validation by experts in the field of Guidance and Counseling and related area. The subject of the study were the elementary pupils with such as gender, age, grade level and average/grade, and aspects such as academic activities, extra-curricular activities and development of moral values. The study was conducted in Wawa Elementary School Tanay, Rizal and 300 students were selected to be the respondents of the study. The researchers used the frequency, percentage and rank distribution, mean and ANOVA as the statistical tools. Based on the summary of findings, the researchers came up with these conclusions. There are more female than male elementary pupils whose age are 10-11, grade VI and with the average of 80-84. Parents are always involved in the development of moral values of their children and often are after the welfare of their children in the academic and extra-curricular activities. The involvement of parents is found contributory to the academic achievement of their children. Based on the findings and conclusions, the study recommended that parents' involvement in the school activities must be intensified by the elementary schools, proper guidance of parents is sought to monitor the different activities of their children and parallel study may be considered using other variables.
