Dissertation note: Undergraduate Thesis Bachelor of Elementary Education Content Courses University of Rizal System, Rodriguez, Rizal 2019 Summary: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of mind mapping in Science at Southville 8C Elementary School during school year 2018-2019. This study utilized mind mapping. The respondents were composed of 80 randomly selected pupils that divides into two groups wherein the group were classified as a control group and the other were experimental group. The researchers used the Pretest and Posttest to the control group and experimental group. Based on the gathered data the following were findings were formulated. The mean scores of the control group during the pre-test and post-test increased from 10.27 to 15.47 while the mean scores of the experimental group during the pre-test and post-test increased from 10.47 to 20.55. There was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test mean scores of the control group and experimental group. There was a significant difference between the post-test mean scores of the control group and experimental group. The teachers and pupils respondents said that the use of mind mapping is effective in learning science because it visually organize the lesson From the findings of the study, the following conclusions were drawn. Mind mapping is effective in improving the performance of the pupils in Science. Mind mapping helped pupils to easily understand the topic because it added extra motivation to them. For the recommendation, the teachers should continue using mind mapping for it can be another tool for teaching Science.
