This study aimed to determine the Parents' and Teachers' role in developing the Social, Emotional and Academic growth of the Grade two pupils". The study was conducted during the School Year 2017-2018 at San Jose Elementary School.
The researchers randomly chose 10 Parents and 10 Teachers of Grade II pupils. A qualitative research was utilized to attain the objective of the study.
From the gathered data, the following were the conclusion drawn: Most of the respondents were female. Most of them are Adult. Most parents who participated in the study were housewives. Parents' salary ranged from a minimum wage, while teachers' ranged from above minimum. Teachers have been in the service for two decades.
On the problems encountered by the respondents in terms of social, there were pupils who were aloof to socialize and they used to have troubles with their classmates. In terms of emotional some pupils were short tempered, could easily cry and grouchy. In terms in academic parts disclosed that they had hard time check the assignment of their children.
On the role of parents and teachers in developing the social, emotional and academic growth of the pupils, parents and serve as adviser, listener, counselor, comforter, supporter and motivator.
From the stated findings the following conclusions were drawn: Parents and Teachers are matured enough to take responsibilities in looking after their children. In developing the social, emotional and academic of pupils is a big challenge to both teachers and parents to deal with. Parents and teachers help hand in hand in developing the social, emotional and academic growth of pupils.
